Privacy policy

The short version: Kurrb uses Screen Time permission to pause selected apps and Motion & Fitness to count steps for unlocks. Kurrb is designed to avoid collecting exact app names, exact app usage, browsing history, or personal details. Step data is used on device and is not transmitted by the current version of Kurrb.

1. Who we are

Kurrb is an iPhone app, made by Invara, that starts microbreaks when selected apps hit your usage limit. During a microbreak, selected apps pause until you complete a small step goal. This policy covers the Kurrb app and this website.

2. What we collect

Kurrb is built to minimize what leaves your phone. Specifically:

• Your settings. The apps and categories you choose, your usage limit, step goal, and microbreak history are saved on your device.
• Step data. Kurrb reads your step count on your device to know when you have hit your goal. Step data is used on device and is not transmitted by the current version of Kurrb.
• Analytics. The current version of Kurrb does not send analytics events to an external analytics service. Future versions may use privacy-safe counts and status events, such as permission approved or denied, selected item counts, usage-limit buckets, step-goal buckets, and unlock or skip counts. Kurrb does not send exact app names, app identifiers, exact app usage, or emergency reason text.
• Purchases. If you choose to buy Kurrb Plus, purchase and subscription information is processed through Apple’s in-app purchase system and RevenueCat, as described below.

3. Permissions we ask for

Screen Time (Family Controls). This lets Kurrb shield the specific apps you select. Apple's system hands Kurrb opaque tokens for your chosen apps. Kurrb enforces the lock but never learns what you do inside those apps, and never sees any app you did not pick.

Motion & Fitness. This lets Kurrb read your step count from your iPhone's motion sensor, so it can unlock your apps when you reach your goal. Step data is used on your device and is not transmitted by the current version of Kurrb.

Notifications. If you allow notifications, Kurrb may send reminders or microbreak-related notifications, such as letting you know when a reset starts. You can turn notifications off in iOS Settings.

Kurrb does not request Health, location, contacts, photos, microphone, or camera access.

4. Where your data lives

Your Kurrb setup and step unlock data live on your iPhone using standard iOS storage. Deleting the app removes local app data from your device. Because Kurrb is not account-based, we cannot recover local setup data for you.

5. Purchases

Kurrb Plus purchases are processed through Apple’s in-app purchase system. We use RevenueCat to help manage subscription status, purchases, and restores. RevenueCat may process purchase-related information, such as the product purchased, subscription status, transaction identifiers, and app user identifiers used for app functionality.

We do not use purchase information to track you across apps or websites.

6. What we do not do

We do not sell your data. We do not share exact app names or exact app usage with advertisers. We do not track you across apps or websites. We do not monitor browsing history, messages, app content, or what you do inside selected apps.

7. This website

This site is a simple informational page. It does not set advertising cookies or run outside analytics. Fonts are served from this site itself.

8. Children

Kurrb is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

9. Changes

If this policy changes in a meaningful way, we will update this page and the date above. Since we do not have your email, please check back here.
